Zárate, Villa, Almendra & Tevez on target as Boca Juniors defeat Independiente Medellín (VIDEO)

Guillermo Barros Schelotto has added to Boca Juniors’ already stacked squad and on Saturday, two of his recent signings got off the mark in a friendly victory over Independiente Medellín in Boca Raton.

An early error by Paolo Goltz gifted the Colombians the opening goal with Germán Cano tapping in but Boca were soon back level as Mauro Zárate impressively fired into the bottom corner from outside the area.

Fellow newcomer Sebastián Villa, who impressed on his debut, gave a glimpse of his pace and talent two minutes later to burst forward and slot in Boca’s second and just before the end of an ill-tempered first half, youngster Agustín Almendra curled in an exquisite third.

With several substitutions in the second half, Boca lost some momentum and Hernán Pertúz headed a goal back for Independiente but there was still time for Edwin Cardona to pounce in a defensive error and square the ball for Carlos Tevez to add a simple fourth.
