Monday night’s action saw Arsenal de Sarandi host Estudiantes with the visitors still in search of their first win of the campaign. Despite playing most of the game with 10 men after Leonardo Jara was sent off in the first half Estudiantes battling performance came up short. With a few minutes remaining Carlos Carbonero spotted the run of Martin Rolle and delightfully scooped the ball into his path. Rolle made no mistake as his left foot shot rifled into the corner. The result lifts Arsenal to within 3 points of the top and they still have their crucial Libertadores game next week. For Estudiantes the league table makes depressing reading, rock bottom with no wins. The silver lining being that the relegation average makes them safe for this year.
