Independiente have wasted no time in appointing Miguel Angel Brindisi’s replacement as they seek to win promotion straight back to the Primera Division. The man tasked with that is Omar De Felippe, who recently left Quilmes after his contract was not renewed. De Felippe has experience doing this when he was manager of Olimpo. In his first managerial position, De Felippe was in charge as Olimpo won the Nacional B and were promoted to the Primera. Independiente’s board and fans will be hoping that he can repeat this feat. His next job at Quilmes, has also been relatively successful as he has kept them in the Primera and instilled an effective style of football. The 51 year old, Falklands Veteran is stepping into one of the biggest jobs in Argentina and his biggest challenge if he is get Independiente back to its former glory.
