Tempers flared in the 1-1 draw between Racing and Lanus

Despite the international fixtures this week, the Primera Division showed no signs of letting up and gave us 5 games to look at from Saturday. Racing hosted Lanus, in a derby of sorts (in the absence of Independiente anyway) and under new manager, Carlos Ischia came close to a much needed win. Carlos Araujo’s late own goal, plus 3 red cards, looked to have given them 3 points only for Maxi Velazquez’s even later strike to cancel it out. Estudiantes drew 1-1 in La Plata with Belgrano but will feel a little aggrieved as they were the better side and had at least one goal wrongly ruled out for offside. Godoy Cruz beat Colon 1-0 thanks to Ivan Ramis’ late goal in Mendoza. Caruso Lombardi’s Argentinos Juniors side won again in the clasico with All Boys to go back to the top of the table. Yet another clean sheet ensured that Osvaldo Miranda’s first half goal was enough to give them victory. And finally, Atletico Rafaela defeated Gimnasia 2-1. SEE ALL THE GOALS HERE….
