Things continue to get worse for Racing Club, after the worst start to a season since the short championship format began, Carlos Ischia has resigned after overseeing just 5 games. Perhaps a doomed appointment from the start the veteran coach has not been able to make any improvements and yesterday’s loss to Atletico Rafaela in Avellaneda was the final straw. Diego Vera’s first half penalty was enough for the win and leaves Racing with 8 defeats and 2 draws from their 10 games in this year’s Inicial.
Another desperately poor performance was rewarded with another defeat last night in Avellaneda. As a result, Racing are now looking for a new manager once again, only weeks after axing Luis Zubeldia.
After the somewhat disastrous attempt at replacing Zubeldia there is significant pressure on new President, Victor Blanco.
An early front runner it appears is Antonio Mohamed, who left his post as Hurucan Manager, just last week. His time at his beloved Hurucan has been poor but he impressed while in Mexico with Tijuana.
The issue Racing had last time was their first choices declining the offer so they will be keen to avoid a repetition of that.
The other names currently in the mix are Rodolfo Arruabarrena, the hugely experienced, Reinaldo Merlo and even Caruso Lombardi.
Any one taking over would want some guarantees from the board as the club appears to be in complete disarray at present.
