Arsenal – Copa Argentina Champions 2013

Through the heavy rain in Catamarca, Gustavo Alfaro’s, Arsenal swept aside San Lorenzo to lift the Copa Argentina and in doing so qualified for the 2014 Copa Libertadores. Nicolas Aguirre’s first half goal gave Arsenal the advantage and when Ignacio Piatti was sent off just before half time for a reckless lunge, San Lorenzo’s task became even greater. Arsenal wrapped up their third trophy in 2 years with two second half goals. First, a Mariano Echeverria header and finally a superb solo effort from Emilio Zelaya. It was a deserved victory for the Sarandi outfit and a deeply disappointing night for El Ciclon. WATCH THE GOALS HERE….
