A host of European clubs including Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on San Lorenzo’s young attacker, Angel Correa after the 18-year-old burst into the first team last season. The pacy wideman has impressed in El Nuevo Gasometro and could now be the next Argentine export to light up one of Europe’s top leagues.
If some of the British tabloid press are to be believed Arsenal, in addition to Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are tracking Correa and could be set to make an offer when the European window opens in January.
At only 18 years of age Correa only came into the first team during the Torneo Final, earlier in the year, but scored 4 goals in his 13 appearances. His form has continued into this Torneo Inicial and he has added another 3 goals to that tally so far.
The diminutive striker is deceptively strong and coupled with his pace has made him a real threat to defences in the Primera Division. However, any talk of doing this in Europe at present would seem a little premature as Correa is still a little raw. For any of the sides mentioned it would appear to be one for the future rather than an instant impact on first team football.
That being said, San Lorenzo would be loathed to lose one of their brightest young players and so a fee of around $4.5 million has been mentioned.

Everyone and their brother is linked to Arsenal;
Before Wenger signed Ozil Arsenal were going to sign;
• Midfielders DiMaria, Gundogan, Khedira, Bender, Draxler, Fabregas, Fellaini,
• Strikers; Benzema, Higuain, Jovetic,
• Defenders; Williams, Gustavo,
• Keepers; Casillas, Reina, Cesar
Someone who wasn’t linked until his signing? Ozil.
Lately, the rumors include something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.
Old; Benzema, Draxler,Gundoga, Khedira, Bender
New; Schar, Llorente
Borrowed; Ba
Blue; Casillas, who is, no doubt, blue after months on the sidelines.
Thanks for the comment Paul and yes you’re absolutely right. Arsenal have been linked with an enormous amount of players and I expect Correa to be just another of those names. I would be very surprised to see this happen but as the British press picked up on one of Argentina’s Primera prospects thought I would throw it out there.
