Alejandro Sabella promised a look at some of the fringe squad players in addition to the new faces and as expected we will see two distinct lineups for the friendly against Ecuador and then Wednesday’s match with Bosnia. The inclusion of Inter Milan’s Ricky Alvarez is the big call as he will be filling the huge boots of Lionel Messi in the hole behind, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Gonzalo Higuain up front.
There are also changes in defence where Facundo Roncaglia and Lucas Orban have been given the chance to show off their talents.
The team lines up as follows:
Sergio Romero; Facundo Roncaglia, Ezequiel Garay, Federico Fernandez, Lucas Orban; Ever Banega, Javier Mascherano, Angel Di Maria; Ricardo Alvarez; Gonzalo Higuain and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Javier Mascherano captains the side and Argentina are sporting their new World Cup shirts in a rather chilly looking New Jersey.
