Vélez Sarsfield were the big winners on Saturday as they came from behind to inflict Belgrano‘s first defeat of 2014. For the first time, Belgrano actually took the lead when Guillermo Farré tapped them in front but Vélez came back strongly after the break. Mauro Zárate scored the equaliser minutes after the restart and then laid on the second for Agustín Allione. Lucas Pratto added a third late on to move Vélez within a point of Colón. The leaders were earlier held to a goalless draw at home to Gimnasia and could be leapfrogged by San Lorenzo, if El Ciclon get a result on Sunday. There was a further stalemate in La Plata, were Estudiantes kept another clean sheet but were unable to force a winner against Atletico Rafaela. In Saturday’s first match, Lanús heaped further pressure on Claudio Borghi and Argentinos Juniors by claiming a 2-0 win in La Paternal. Headers from Diego González and Jorge Ortiz meant that Argentinos remain at the foot of the relegation table and look in real danger. WATCH THE GOALS HERE….
