It’s a very difficult task to make Friday’s Primera action sound anything other than dull. This season’s propensity for goalless draws went to extreme levels yesterday evening as all 3 matches ended 0-0. Godoy Cruz missed out on top spot after drawing in Floresta against All Boys but more importantly they remain in the drop zone with their hosts hovering just above them in safety. Estudiantes also missed out on the chance to leapfrog Colón after failing to score against Olimpo in La Plata. Finally, and most significantly, Belgrano and Argentinos Juniors ended goalless. Argentinos are running out of time to remain in the Primera and this result could prove to have huge implications after Pablo Barzola had his penalty chalked off for encroachment by a Belgrano defender, only to see his retaken effort saved by Juan Carlos Olave. A cruel turn of events that keeps Claudio Borghi’s side rooted to the foot of the relegation table. WATCH THE HIGHLIGHTS?…
All Boys 0 – 0 Godoy Cruz
Estudiantes 0 – 0 Olimpo
Belgrano 0 – 0 Argentinos Juniors
