After Friday night’s attempts to turn anyone off watching Argentine football, Saturday was desperately in need of goals, and an incredible second half in Liniers, saw Vélez Sarsfield hit five past Gimnasia to overturn the vistitor’s half time lead. Goals from Lucas Pratto, Héctor Canteros, Mauro Zárate and a late Agustín Allione brace meant Vélez climbed to within a point of leaders, Colón. Newell’s Old Boys once again threw away points as they allowed Quilmes a late equaliser in Rosario. David Trezeguet once again came off the bench to give Newell’s the lead but with a minute remaining Gonzalo Ríos headed Quilmes level and although Caruso Lombardi’s side remain in the drop zone, this certainly represents a point gained. Finally, Racing snatched a late draw when they visited Atletico Rafaela. Rodrigo De Paul gave Racing the lead but two quick goals from Lucas Albertengo and former Racing player, Adrian Bastia looked to have given Rafaela the win. However, with 5 minutes left, Luciano Vietto fired in a rebound from the edge of the area to give Racing a decent away point. WATCH ALL THE GOALS HERE….
