After a group stage that went to the wire, Lanús are in for another tight evening in a week when they travel to Torréon, México to defend the 2-1 victory they recorded yesterday evening against Santos Laguna. The dangerous, Darwin Quintero smashed the visitors in front midway through the second half but the lead lasted less than 10 minutes as Facundo Monteseirín rifled in a well-taken equaliser. With Santos dropping deeper, content with heading back to México with a score draw it appeared that the stalemate was most likely. However, with literally seconds remaining, a free kick into the Santos penalty box caused panic and the failure to clear allowed Matías Martínez to rise and head in a dramatic winner. The goal changes the dynamic of the return leg but it remains finely balanced. WATCH THE GOALS….

Lanús  2 – 1  Santos Laguna
