The sight of Gonzalo Higuaín being stretchered off, grimacing in pain in Napoli’s goalless draw with Inter Milan on Saturday evening was a worrying sight for Alejandro Sabella. With doubts already over the fitness of Fernando Gago, Argentina would not want to lose another of their integral first team players. However, the good news from this latest scare is that it is just a trauma to the right tibia of “Pipita”.
Napoli will be sweating to see if they can get their star striker back for the Copa Italia Final against Fiorentina on May 3rd but La Albiceleste need not worry.
The reshuffle needed to account for Gago’s absence is one thing but Sabella would be fearful if he needed to change the attacking trident of Higuaín, Messi and Agüero who proved so deadly in qualification.
