Lanús followed Arsenal out of this year’s Copa Libertadores after defeat in La Paz against Bolívar to leave San Lorenzo flying the flag for Argentina. An all Argentine Semi Final was the reward had Lanús managed to negotiate a way past Bolívar but the testing away leg in the altitude of La Paz proved too much. Guillermo Barros Schelloto’s side never really managed to do any damage which was critical following the late equaliser in Buenos Aires and with time running out Carlos Izquierdoz got himself sent off before Juan Arce scored to confirm a Bolivian side would be in the last four for the first time.

Bolívar  1 – 0  Lanús  (Agg 2 – 1 )

    • Not too sure. After the defeat to Bolivar he has been talking about the future so at the moment it appears he will be sticking around for a while longer. I guess waiting in the wings for Bianchi to leave Boca and then he can take over the reigns.
