Barcelona have reportedly already agreed a deal with Argentina striker, Gonzalo Higuaín according to Spanish paper, Marca. A €40 million deal has been suggested but Higuaín’s current employers, Napoli have been quick to rebuff any deal via Twitter. Barcelona are keen to give new boss, Luis Enrique sufficient funds to bounce back from this season’s disappointment but given Napoli paid Real Madrid around the same amount as that mentioned, the Italian side would probably want a profit on their star striker.

It is clear that Higuaín has an excellent chemistry with Lionel Messi and they proved that once again earlier today linking up for Messi’s wonderful winner against Bosnia but a deal will difficult to complete.

Having previously been linked with another Argentina teammate, Sergio Agüero, this may well just be paper talk. Barcelona will be spending this summer but it remains to be seen where these funds will be invested.
