Sabella going back to the trusted formation for Iran match

The side for Saturday’s match against Iran appears to be taking shape as Alejandro Sabella once again lined up with a 4-3-3 in training but this time with Angel Di María and Fernando Gago back in the midfield after yesterday’s absence.

The team that lined up today was Sergio Romero; Pablo Zabaleta, Ezequiel Garay, Fede Fernández, Marcos Rojo; Fernando Gago, Javier Mascherano, Angel Di Maria; Lionel Messi, Sergio Agüero, Gonzalo Higuaín.

This would be the most familiar starting eleven to most and it would seem that Iran will most likely face this side on Saturday in Belo Horizonte. Back in the more popular 4-3-3 formation, Argentina will be looking to make more of a statement after their disappointing opener.

Lining up against this side, with the whole squad back to fitness, in training were: Mariano Andújar; Augusto Fernández, Hugo Campagnaro, Martin Demichelis, Jose Basanta; Maxi Rodríguez, Lucas Biglia, Enzo Pérez, Ricky Alvarez; Rodrigo Palacio, Ezequiel Lavezzi.
