Iturbe last season with Hellas Verona

Italian champions, Juventus are reportedly close to completing a €25 million deal for Argentine winger, Juan Manuel Iturbe. AC Milan are also keen but the figures being suggested seem hugely inflated given that, despite his lofty reputation as a youngster, last season in Serie A was his first real success.

Iturbe’s current side, Hellas Verona only recently took up their option to sign the 21-year-old recently after a successful loan spell from Porto. The €15 million Verona paid was always like to be a means to make a quick profit and it would appear that Juventus have provided them with that.

Last season, playing on the right of Hellas Verona’s attack, Iturbe scored 8 goals and made 4 assists and finally appeared to be transforming into the player that he had the potential to be since his days playing for Cerro Porteño in Paraguay.

This form prompted Hellas Verona to meet the agreed fee with Porto but has also attracted clubs from around Europe.

Iturbe is a great talent with pace, dribbling skills and an eye for goal and could prove to be a great asset at the top level but at this stage in his career, €25 million or the €30 million that Hellas Verona are hoping for seems very excessive.
