Chelsea, Juve and AC Milan all keep tabs on Lavezzi

Lavezzi was a key part of Argentina’s World Cup Squad but maybe surplus to requirements in Paris

Italian reports are suggesting that Ezequiel Lavezzi is one player that Paris St Germain are willing to sell in order to fund further big money transfers this summer. Chelsea are reported to have sounded out Paris over Lavezzi’s availability earlier in the window but Italian giants, Juventus and AC Milan may now be willing to meet the £25 million price tag.

Lavezzi was a key part of Paris St Germain’s championship winning side last season but the 29-year-old attacker could be one of the players sacrificed as Paris look to off-set their heavy spending.

Two seasons ago, Paris paid Napoli £24 million for the Argentina International and so recouping this amount would be good business as Lavezzi enters the latter part of his career.

With Financial Fair Play in mind, it will be necessary for Paris to sell before they can go ahead with the proposed deal for fellow Argentine, Ángel Di María. Lavezzi, Javier Pastore or Edinson Cavani appear to be the obvious choices and certainly any move could set in motion a series of big money moves around Europe.

José Mourinho has already stated that Chelsea’s transfer business is done which might leave the path clear for the Italian sides. Juventus need to make a sign of intent after Antonio Conte’s resignation and missing out on Juan Iturbe and AC Milan desperately need to bounce back after the disappointment of last season.
