Former Vélez boss, Ricardo Gareca has snapped up another of his former players for his new employers, Palmieras. 19-year-old winger, Agustín Allione has signed a four-year contract for the Brazilian side and cost $3 million.
Ricardo Gareca has already signed 24-year-old centre-half, Fernando Tobio and is also keen on adding Lucas Pratto to his new side.
Allione is the latest and is a promising signing for Palmeiras for just $3 million as the 19-year-old has previously been linked with a move to some of Europe’s biggest sides. Excellent performances in the Copa Libertadores and an Argentina under 17 and under 20 international, Allione has been on the radar for a number of clubs.
Gareca knows him well from his time at Vélez and Allione had this to say on the deal when he spoke with Sportia: “I’m happy to play for Palmeiras and a little sad to leave Vélez. Ricardo has had much to do to get me noticed.”
Having already lost Mauro Zárate to West Ham United, Vélez are looking a little light ahead of the Torneo Transición and will be loathed to lose Lucas Pratto in the same window.
