The Segura Bank Championship pits the Japanese J-League champions against the Copa Sudamericana champions and so last night in Kashiwa, Lanús met local side, Kashiwa Reysol. Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s side were undone by a late penalty and travel back to Buenos Aires empty handed. Kaoru Takayama gave the home side the lead just before half time and although a deflected Leandro Somoza shot brought Lanús level, an 88th minute from Brazilian striker, Leandro ensured the Segura Bank trophy stayed in Japan once again. It’s the Segura Bank Championship so there is really not much else to say….
