Colombian striker, Teo Gutiérrez is finally back with River Plate after spending several weeks talking up moves to Europe. However, this would appear to be only temporary as Zenit St Petersburg are set to negotiate a €8 million deal.

It is fair to say that Teo Gutiérrez has not conducted himself all that well during the current transfer window and particularly since representing Colombia at the World Cup in Brazil. He has made no secret of his desire to move to Europe and it would appear that his wish may be about to come true.

The 29-year-old Colombian has been the centre of interest from several clubs, including Southamption, Sevilla and Inter Milan but it would now it is Zenit St Petersburg who are ready to test River with an offer of €8 million.

Certainly River manager, Marcelo Gallardo is planning for life without his Colombian striker, in spite of a lack of attacking options.  River kickoff their season in La Plata on Sunday, away to Gimnasia and Gallardo looks set to name Gutiérrez on the bench.

River are expected to line-up: Marcelo Barovero; Gabriel Mercado, Jonathan Maidana, Ramiro Funes Mori, Leonel Vangioni; Carlos Sánchez, Leonardo Ponzio, Osmar Ferreyra; Manuel Lanzini; Rodrigo Mora, Lucas Boyé.

Negotiations between Zenit and River are expected soon as River also wait to see if deals will also be made for Manuel Lanzini and Éder Álvarez Balanta. Besiktas and Valencia are reportedly the two clubs closest to these two.
