Inter Milan’s Sporting Director, Piero Ausilio has admitted that the club have rejected a €25 million bid from an unnamed club for 21-year-old Argentine, Mauro Icardi but insists the striker will not be leaving at any price. Interest from Liverpool, Atlético Madrid, Monaco and Roma has fueled the speculation over Icardi’s future.

Icardi is predicted to have a huge future ahead of him and so Inter Milan appear to be unwilling to even discuss the notion of selling the 21-year-old, along with Croatian youngster, Mateo Kovacic.

Ausilio told Corriere della Sera that “They (the unnamed side) have already offered €25m for Icardi and we have rejected those offers. Both Mauro and Kovacic are not for sale at any price. They are fundamental for the project we have at Inter. Mauro can play alongside Pablo Osvaldo without any problems.”

Osvaldo arrived on loan from Southampton earlier in the window but Inter are not eying the fellow Argentine as a replacement for Icardi.

Icardi is under contract with Inter until 2018 having just signed for the Italian giants from Sampdoria last summer and although injury disrupted his first season in the Giuseppe Meazza, he managed 9 goals from his 22 appearances.

There are not many 21-year-olds who lead the line at top clubs in Europe and for this reason the queue of potential suitors is ever-increasing and Inter Milan are determined to keep hold of him. Provided Icardi remains focused on football he could be one of the leading strikers in Europe.

Liverpool are still looking for a replacement in attack for Luis Suarez while mega-rich Monaco have the money made from the sale of James Rodriguez burning a hole in their very deep pockets. Atletico Madrid seek a replacement for Diego Costa, although are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Mexican striker, Raul Jimenez and Roma have even been linked to offering Mattia Destro.
