Vélez Sarsfield reclaimed top spot in the Primera and maintained the league’s only 100% record with a 1-0 win over Lanús in Liniers. Once again it was the instrumental, Lucas Pratto with the only goal as the 26-year-old made it four goals in the opening four games. With less than 10 minutes remaining, Pratto played a nice one-two before getting a bit of luck to round Agustín Marchesín and tap in the winner. Later, San Lorenzo earned their first win of the campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Quilmes. Goals from Héctor Villalba, Gonzalo Verón and a Néstor Ortigoza penalty signalled a welcome return to form for El Ciclón ahead of Sunday’s clash with River Plate. Earlier on Thursday, Banfield celebrated back-to-back league wins with a 1-0 over Tigre in the Estadio Florencio Sola. Paraguayan, Santiago Salcedo’s strike midway through the first half was enough to give Matías Almeyda’s side a deserved win.

Banfield  1 – 0  Tigre

Vélez Sarsfield  1 – 0  Lanús

Quilmes  0 – 3  San Lorenzo
