If Sunday’s scheduling slight spoilt fans of Argentine football, Monday night provided the flip side to the argument and went some way to fuel the opinion of many that the Primera produces some of the dullest football going. Arsenal de Sarandí picked up a 1-0 win against Banfield thanks to Sebastian Palacios’ second half goal but elsewhere there was little to cause any excitement. Lanús were held to a 1-1 draw against Olimpo, only made interesting by the fact that both managers were sent from the dugouts for bringing their teams out late and Colombian, Miguel Borja scored the own goal to give Lanús the lead and later equalised to salvage a point for Olimpo. Later, in Victoria, Tigre and Quilmes managed to save the best until last and played out a thoroughly forgettable goalless draw.
