River Plate strengthened their position at the top of the table and provided further evidence that they are the team to beat this season. Rodrigo Mora scored twice to give Gallardo’s side a comfortable 2-0 win against Tigre and put them three points clear of Vélez. Boca Juniors recorded a second consecutive win under Rodolfo Arruabarrena, away to Olimpo but it was anything but convincing. The home side had a couple of decent penalty shouts turned down before Diego Ceballos sent off Miguel Borja just 13 minutes in and despite this advantage it took until Emmanuel Gigliotti’s 78th minute header to snatch the points. Earlier in Avellaneda, Lanús piled more pressure on Racing boss, Diego Cocca with a damaging 3-1 away win. Ricardo Centurión gave Racing the best possible start in the first minute but a Silvio Romero penalty and a Diego González piledriver reversed the scoreline before the break. Once again Racing chasing a lead were inept and to add insult to injury the idiotic Centurión earned himself a second yellow card before Romero added a third. San Lorenzo‘s slow start to the Torneo Transición continued as they earned a 1-1 away to Rosario Central and Godoy Cruz hosted Primera newcomers, Defensa y Justicia and it also ended 1-1.

Kranevitter’s perfomance was brilliant. Could replace Mascherano in near future
Agreed Toni. Kranevitter’s performances this season have been outstanding and he is certainly beginning to attract attention. There is already talk of Martino running an eye over him for friendlies in the future.
