Fair to say that Gimnasia‘s eyes were on their upcoming midweek clásico against Estudiantes in the Copa Sudamericana but credit to Defensa y Justicia for ruthlessly taking advantage in La Plata. Pedro Troglia opted to rest several first team players and the result was a second victory in the top flight for the Primera newcomers. Goals from Javier Yacuzzi, Mariano Barbieri and Julio Rodríguez gave Defensa y Justicia a comfortable three goal victory.
