Despite the help of a dwarf witch, Gimnasia produced a lacklustre performance in the Estadio Único and limped to a 1-0 defeat against fierce rivals, Estudiantes. Diego Vera’s goal just after half time was enough to see the home side through to the next stage of the Copa Sudamericana and spark wild celebrations and a little bit of the customary handbags at full time. Gimnasia will be deeply disappointed with the level of performance and have understandably been the butt of several jokes after seeking the help of a witch to banish any bad energy from the stadium.
