Primera newcomers, Defensa y Justicia picked up the notable scalp of Copa Libertadores champions, San Lorenzo last night in the Copa Argentina to progress to the Quarter Finals. Ciro Rius’ excellent goal gave Defensa the lead 25 minutes in but it was quickly cancelled out by the even more impressive strike of Martín Cauteruccio. However, the decisive goal shortly after the break when an inswinging free kick was helped past his own goalkeeper by the unforuntate Gonzalo Prósperi. The superb win for Defensa y Justicia was marred by the news of violent clashes between San Lorenzo and rivals, Huracán as they travelled to the match in Avellaneda.
