River Plate’s impressive run of form continued last night in the Estadio Monumental as Marcelo Gallardo’s side easily dispatched of Godoy Cruz in the Copa Sudamericana. Rodrigo Mora’s first half brace sealed the victory and set up a last 16 tie against Paraguayan side, Libertad. The 2-0 win on the night completed a 3-0 aggregate scoreline and River highlighted once more their attacking prowess but equally their resolute defence. With the Sudamericana successfully navigated focus now shifts to Sunday’s Primera clash with Independiente.
