Lanús are slowly starting to look like their old selves and last night a fairly routine 2-0 win over Quilmes made it three on the bounce for Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s side. Had it not been for some wasteful finishing perhaps the margin could have been greater but as it was the goals had a touch of fortune about them. The first just before half time was a generously awarded penalty for handball, dutifully dispatched by Silvio Romero and the second a clumsy own-goal by Alejandro Cabral. Lanús are not quite up to full speed yet but momentarily move up to second, level on points with River, albeit having played two games more.
