Crowd trouble in the Estadio Tres de Febrero during the match between Club Almagro and Los Andes in the Primera B Metropolitana last night led to the match being suspended after 40 minutes. League leaders, Los Andes were leading 1-0 at the time when home fans started to throw firecrackers and fireworks onto the pitch, close to Los Andes goalkeeper, Maxi Gagliardo. Despite some attempts to calm them and after a brief meeting with the captains, referee, Ramiro López decided to suspend play. Curiously, Almagro President, Julián Romeo said after the incident, “This happens when politics gets into football.”
