As was more than evident to anyone who caught the Superclásico on Sunday, rain seriously disrupted the football but there were three other Primera matches to catch up on. Racing Club paid for their wastefulness in front of goal on a wet night in Avellenda as Atlético Rafaela stole a 2-0 away win with goals from Sergio Vittor and Guillermo Fernández. Earlier, Quilmes managed a 1-1 draw with Newell’s Old Boys on another pitch that probably should not have passed inspection. Maxi Rodríguez stabbed Newell’s in front but a wonderful curled effort from Gonzalo Klusener brought Quilmes level before the break. Earlier, Estudiantes claimed a 2-1 win against Olimpo to climb to sixth in the table.
Olimpo 1 – 2 Estudiantes
Quilmes 1 – 1 Newell’s Old Boys
Racing Club 0 – 2 Atletico Rafaela
