Lanús closed to within two points of league leaders, River after a 2-1 win away to Rosario Central on Monday evening. Silvio Romero’s well-worked opener and Matías Martínez’s fine header either side of half time rendered Walter Acuña’s volley meaningless and ensured that Lanús’ fine run of form continued. Later in Mendoza, Independiente snatched a late 2-2 draw against Godoy Cruz in a thoroughly entertaining match. Fernando Zuqui blasted the home side into an early lead only for Fede Mancuello to maintain his unbelievable scoring streak and slot in an equaliser following superb wide play from Matías Pisano. Rubén Ramírez curled Godoy Cruz back in front but despite finishing the game with 10 men, El Rojo grabbed a late equaliser when Alexis Zárate headed in from under the cross bar. The point leaves Independiente in third, a point behind Lanús.

Rosario Central  1 – 2  Lanús

Godoy Cruz  2 – 2  Independiente
