Lanús had the opportunity to go top of the Primera table, at least for 48 hours, and for an hour of their match against Godoy Cruz it looked as though they would. Víctor Ayala had headed them in front and minutes after half time Santiago Silva doubled the lead as Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s side looked to be en route to another routine home win. However, three goals in under 15 minutes from Rubén Ramírez, Jaime Ayoví and Claudio Aquino turned the match around for Los Mendocinos. Ultimately, despite having only 10 men, it was Silvio Romero’s close range goal that managed to salvage a point for Lanús. Earlier, the remarkable revival of Tigre under Gustavo Alfaro continued as they managed a fourth consecutive victory. Carlos Luna’s second half penalty was enough to see off Gimnasia in Victoria and the 100% record of Alfaro goes on!
