Racing Club‘s inconsistencies proved once more why they are such a difficult side to predict as they followed up their home defeat to Atlético Rafaela last week with a thumping 4-0 win over Estudiantes in La Plata. Diego Milito headed La Academia in front early before a Gustavo Bou brace and a late Gabriel Hauche chip completed the rout to lift Racing momentarily up to third. Vélez Sarsfield ended their 6-match winless run with a 4-1 victory against Olimpo in Liniers. Sebastián Domínguez’s powerful header put them in front and then Brian Ferriera’s excellent strike made it two. A defensive lapse before half time allowed Adrián Martínez to pull one back for Olimpo but second half goals from Lucas Pratto and Ramiro Caseres completed a much needed win. Finally, two of the Primera División’s strugglers met in Córdoba and Quilmes managed to earn a 1-1 draw after falling behind to Belgrano.
