The residents of Villa Palito in the western suburb of San Justo have honoured Carlos Tevez with a mural depicting his celebration from earlier in the season for Juventus. Tevez remains a firm favourite for huge parts of the population and after showing a t-shirt bearing the words ‘La Palito’ as he celebrated scoring against Udinese earlier this season, artists from the area of the same name have produced a mural of El Apache. Villa Palito is in Buenos Aires Province, outside the city limits, in La Matanza so it is not Tevez’s home but the Juventus striker has tweeted his thanks nonetheless.

Support for Carlos Tevez never appears to wane and with Gerardo Martino already stating that the door to an international return is open, his fans probably will not have to wait long to see their idol back in La Albiceleste.
