The situation in La Paternal is starting to look bleak as yesterday’s defeat to Nueva Chicago has now left Los Bichos seven points adrift of the fifth and final promotion spot and in the aftermath, club legend Claudio Borghi confirmed his resignation. One win in the last nine, six goals scored all season make grim reading and despite Borghi’s status at the club the locals are getting restless. The 2-1 defeat in the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona proved to be the final straw and Borghi announced his “indeclinable resignation” in the subsequent press conference. There is of course still time, but Argentinos must reverse this situation fast if they are to gain promotion. This season more than any other is of the utmost importance, with five promotion spots ahead of the 30-team Primera in 2015. Not being one of those 30 would be catastrophic for a side like Argentinos.
