In what was a pretty wretched game of football, Gabriel Hauche struck late to give Racing a valuable win in La Plata against Gimnasia. A rare moment of class came in the 86th minute when Hauche expertly fired home Gustavo Bou’s cut-back from the edge of the box, making it five wins from their last seven and moving Racing up to third at least for the night. In Mendoza, Godoy Cruz displayed their atrocious defending once again to lose 3-1 to Belgrano. Jaime Ayoví gave the home side a half time lead but after Fernando Márquez’s fine equaliser it fell apart and quick goals from Emiliano Rigoni and Julio Furch gave Belgrano all three points. The season for Vélez Sarsfield cannot finish soon enough as they tasted defeat once again, this time away to bottom side, Quilmes. Alan Alegre and Francisco Ilarregui fired El Cervecero in front and although Lucas Pratto pulled one back, they held on for the win and moved off the foot of the table. Finally, Rosario Central must be wishing it was the clásico rosarino every week as it is the only match they have won in the last six. Last night in Rosario, Sergio Vittor’s header and Adrián Bastía’s injury time second gave Atlético Rafaela a much needed victory.

Godoy Cruz  1 – 3  Belgrano

Gimnasia  0 – 1  Racing Club

Quilmes  2 – 1  Vélez Sarsfield

Rosario Central  0 – 2  Atlético Rafaela
