Luciano Vietto struck five minutes from time to seriously dent any hopes of Atlético Madrid retaining their La Liga title and returned to haunt Diego Simeone, the manager who handed him his first team debut at Racing. The 21-year-old turned the usually unflappable Diego Godín inside out before firing the winner for Villarreal. It is safe to assume that Vietto is a pretty happy young man tonight, after scoring the winning goal against the current champions, his old teammates at Racing have lifted their first title since 2001.
