With nine goals already this season, making him one of the leading scorers in Serie A, speculation surrounding 21-year-old Paulo Dybala is not disappearing. Palermo have claimed that Manchester United are the latest side to make contact over the strikers availability but he will not be sold until June.
Palermo president, Maurizio Zamparini had previously said that Dybala is “going to be better than Cristiano Ronaldo, [Lionel] Messi and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. It would take €40m (£31m) to take him away from us. He’s the best striker in Serie A.”
Since saying this, the youngster’s stock has risen even further and Zamparini has now added: “Dybala is worth over €40m [£31million] but I won’t sell him until June. Many foreign clubs asked after him, including Manchester United.”
Manchester United will not be alone. Trailing only Mauro Icardi and Carlos Tevez in the scoring charts has made Dybala one of the hottest prospects in European football.
Zamparini claimed that he told Louis van Gaal’s side, “I told the English side that he is not for sale right now, but we can talk about it again in six months. In my view, he is the best striker in Europe at the moment.”
