Preseason friendly tournaments by the sea are usually rather dull affairs but Boca Juniors players ensured that their match with Transición champions, Racing was anything but. Jonathan Calleri’s early opener was quickly cancelled out by Gustavo Bou and after Diego Milito had tapped La Academia in front, two moments of complete madness, one at least bordering on the criminal, saw the match tip firmly in their favour. First, Cristian Erbes was shown a straight red for a crude hand-off in the face of Ricardo Centurión and shortly after Leandro Marín almost snapped Centurión in half with a vicious sliding tackle. With a two-man advantage Bou increased the lead just before half time and with it ended the match as a contest. All that was left in the second half was for Bou to complete his hat-trick after his teammates generously opted to walk the ball into the Boca net allowing the striker to complete the simplest of goal hauls.

Racing Club  4 – 1  Boca Juniors
