San Lorenzo’s players have been enjoying a preseason in Miami after their triumphant 2014 ended with defeat to Real Madrid in the Club World Cup in Morocco. On Saturday evening they faced Colombian side, Atlético Nacional and goals from Martín Cauteruccio and Enzo Kalinski gave El Ciclón a successful, if rather relaxed, start to the new year.

Undoubtedly after winning the Copa Libertadores, San Lorenzo’s season petered out and so 2015 is expected to see Los Cuervos regain their swagger in the Primera. Matías Lammens and Marcelo Tinelli still have some business to do before the start of the season but Edgardo Bauza was able to give places in the side to new signing, Franco Mussis and returning loanee, Alan Ruíz.

The match itself had a very preseason feel to it but Bauza will be relatively pleased with what he saw. Cauteruccio tapped in a simple opener after good work down the left by Pablo Barrientos and later Kalinski managed to head, or shoulder, the ball into the net to double the lead.

With another crack at the Libertadores and the new Primera to challenge for plus the ongoing move back to Boedo, San Lorenzo have much to look forward to in 2015.
