For only a second Libertadores campaign, Huracán showed no signs of nerves or preseason rustiness as they demolised Alianza Lima in Peru. The four-goal victory puts El Globo on the verge of the group stages barring a calamitous return leg in Parque Patricios.
It took just four minutes for Huracán to open up the Alianza defence when Patricio Toranzo played in Ramón Ábila to slot in the opener. Things got even better minutes later after when Alejandro Romero was able to poke in a second after a woeful defensive mix-up.
The two goal away cushion was comfortable enough but when Toranzo added a late brace it all but ended the tie. Huracán must finish the job next Tuesday but will surely take their place in Group Three.
