Rosario Central are enjoying a excellent start to 2015 as they chalked up a third straight win to sit top of the table with maximum points. On the lush field of Garupá, it looked as though Crucero del Norte would do enough to frustrate another visitor but with minutes remaining Germán Caffa spilled a low cross and Franco Neill was alert enough to steer the loose ball into the net. After a successful summer of recruitment, Central have already won half as many as they did during the entire Transición.
As expected perhaps, Crucero del Norte are finding the Primera a little hard going but Unión again showed decent battling qualities to earn a draw with Lanús in Santa Fe. Lautaro Acosta headed Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s title challengers in front only for Enrique Triverio to immediately level. Unión were good value for their point in the face of a decent Lanús performance.
Tigre picked up their first win of the season with a narrow 1-0 win over Olimpo in Victoria. Carlos Luna’s diving header midway through the first half was enough to see off their struggling visitors.
