Only Jonathan Calleri’s early strike separated Boca Juniors and Atlético Rafaela on the scoresheet but it was a thoroughly dominant performance from Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s title challengers which should have yielded more goals. In spite of Walter Serrano’s sending off for La Crema, early in the second half and the introduction of Dani Osvaldo, Boca were unable to extend their lead but will be content nonetheless with a third straight win. Travelling to La Bombonera was never a match earmarked for a potential three points for Atlético Rafaela but a third straight defeat looks ominous.

Champions Racing picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Temperley in Avelleneda. Marcos Acuña tapped in Washington Camacho’s headed cross after just four minutes and when Gustavo Bou added what is fast becoming his customary goal, Racing were coasting to victory. However, credit to the newly promoted visitors as they continued to make things uncomfortable for Racing and twenty five minutes remaining narrow the advantage. The tricky Fabián Sambueza laid on a simple goal for Javier Grbec to set up a nervy end to the match but Racing held on for a valubale three points.

Finally on Sunday, River travelled to Cordoba for what has become something of a grudge match since Belgrano sent River to the Nacional B in 2011. Marcelo Gallardo’s side were still unable to capture anything like their early Transición form and lost Marcelo Barovero to injury early on but eventually came out on top. With fifteen minutes remaining, Rodrigo Mora diverted Leonel Vangioni’s low cross into the net and minutes later, Mora doubled the lead with an excellent shot on the turn. Sergio Escudero mustered a late consolation but Belgrano were unable to stage a comeback and River held on for a good three points after their disappointing draw with Quilmes last weekend.

Boca Juniors  1 – 0  Atlético Rafaela

Racing Club  2 – 1  Temperley

Belgrano  1 – 2  River Plate
