Argentina under-17s kept their dreams of South American Championship glory alive, following their opening two defeats, with a 4-1 win over Bolivia in Paraguay. After falling behind early to Bruno Miranda’s well placed finish it looked as though Los Pibes were heading for another defeat and elimination but a flowing passing move, completed by San Lorenzo striker, Tomás Conechny on the half hour mark brought them level. In first half stoppage time, another of San Lorenzo’s youngsters gave Argentina the lead. Pablo Enrique Ruiz evaded two Bolivian defenders on the edge of the penalty area with some wonderful close control before firing a left footed shot in off the post. Lucas Coyette added a third after half time, superbly nutmegging his marker before slotting the ball into the net and Ruiz completed the victory in injury time. With three qualifying for the final stage, Argentina will need a positive result against Chile to progress.
