Huracán emphatically ended Argentinos Juniors’ unbeaten start to life back in the Primera in the Estadio Duco on Saturday evening as Ramón ‘Wanchope’ Ábila smashed a hat-trick en-route a 4-0 victory. The first week that El Globo have not had midweek commitments in the Copa Libertadores and as a result an invigorated performance completely overpowered Néstor Gorosito’s young Argentinos side.

Ábila notched his first of the day after just two minutes, tapping in from close range after some patient build-up play and after twenty-six minutes he forced the second. The big number nine ran in behind the absent Argentinos defence and rounded goalkeeper Luís Ojeda but from the tightest of angles his shot could only run across the face of goal where it was helped into his own net by Franco Flores.

Minutes later and Wanchope did score his second of the game when he headed in a cross from the right and although he was made to wait to complete his hat-trick, the match was over as a contest with just over thirty minutes on the clock.

Late in the second half and thanks to more wayward defending Ábila wrapped up the victory with his third. A ball over the top found he striker in acres of space and he confidently fired the ball past Ojeda to give Huracán only a second league win of the season.

Huracán  4 – 0  Argentinos Juniors
