For the third time this season, champions Racing were held on their travels and even though the trip to Florencio Varela from Avellaneda is a short one, the result was the same. It was the first time back to Defensa y Justicia for Racing boss Diego Cocca and his new side got off to the perfect start when Carlos ‘Discoteca’ Núñez volleyed them in front after just twenty two seconds. However, despite Racing’s obvious desire to extend the lead and ensure their first away victory El Halcón forced an equaliser with five minutes remaining. Julio Rodríguez tapped in from close range to force the home side level and although Racing had chances to snatch it, they were once again left frustrated.
