After being thumped by Huracán and drawing with Nueva Chicago few would have predicted that Argentinos Juniors would be the side to travel to La Forteleza and end Lanus’ 21-match unbeaten run at home. However, Nestór Gorosito’s young side did just that, taking full advantage of another limp performance from El Granate. A quick counter, aided by some shoddy defending, allowed Jonathan Rodríguez tap in the only goal of the game midway through the second half. With the win Los Bichos leapfrog Lanús into ninth and the home supporters let their grievances very clear. One of these “supporters” rather over-stepped the mark by punching midfielder Matías Fritzler in the face after the match.

Colón picked up their first win of the season last night defeating one of the Primera’s other winless sides, Olimpo in the Cementerio de Los Elefantes. Braian Romero scored the decisive goal on the hour mark when he ran through the heart of the Olimpo defence before side-footing the ball past Nereo Champagne. A much needed win for Los Sabaleros after what has been a tricky start to life back in the Primera.

As expected, Crucero del Norte were unable to follow up their first win of the season with a positive result as they were deservedly beaten by Quilmes. Two Rubén Ramírez headers in two first half minutes put Los Cerveceros firmly in charge and although Crucero pulled one back after the break when Fabián Assmann failed to keep Nicolás Dematei’s free-kick from crossing the line, Mariano Uglessich headed a third for the home side.

Finally, in San Juan, San Martín registered only their second win of the season, inflicting only a second defeat on Gustavo Alfaro’s Tigre. José Luis Gómez’s venemous daisy-cutter gave the home side the lead and although Juan Carlos Blengio headed Tigre level it was a good night for Los Verdinegros. Mauro Bogado’s dipping free-kick gave them the lead after half time and Gómez wrapped it up in injury time with his second of the match.

Lanús  0 – 1  Argentinos Juniors

Colón  1 – 0  Olimpo

Quilmes  3 – 1  Crucero del Norte

San Martín  3 – 1  Tigre
