The star attraction for the charity game in Bogotá, Maradona lined up with Colombian stars Mauricio Serna and Faustino Asprilla and Paraguayan Roberto Cabañas but there was only man that people were talking about after the match. A particularly bloated looking Maradona scored the decisive goal after being gifted a penalty. Perhaps this was in his contract but as the Argentine trundled into the penalty area he eventually collapsed and was generously awarded a spotkick. The 54-year-old converted the penalty to seal a 2-1 win for his side but made further headlines after the match. Angered by people who had entered the pitch to get close to the star, Maradona swiped at cameras and kicked out at people according to the reports. A fitting way to end a match promoting peace.
